biomarker profiling of complex and heterogeneous tumors such as
non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is essential for determining the
best therapeutic approach for each patient. Patients with lung
cancer who have targetable genomic alterations can derive
remarkable benefit from targeted therapies, and the list of
relevant targets and matched therapies continues to expand,
including in early-stage disease settings. Unfortunately, molecular
testing rates remain woefully inadequate, and even when testing is
performed, many patients are not receiving optimally matched
