Ensign Ro Laren was introduced in season 5 of The Next Generation
and was a recurring role until the end of the series. She came on
in part to replace Wesley Crusher at the conn station, but also
to be at odds with the main characters. Her character definitely
pushed the envelope with each of the main characters and she
proves to be an irreplaceable character.
