TikTok has a viral video going around of someone asking Alexa when
World War III will begin. She answers: “WWIII starts on November
23, 2023, at 6:05 pm, when Russia launches an attack against
Germany.” In a strange sort of synchronicity with the Alexa
prediction, the 1983 film, The Day After, forecasts a fictional war
between NATO forces and the Warsaw Pact over Germany that rapidly
escalates into a full-scale nuclear exchange between the United
States and Russia. It is most alarming when AI office assistants
decide to interpret things on their own, especially when it comes
