Dance music, house music, pool party music : I've been pulling
these tracks together for two years. It's been really hard to
categorize this one, which might be why I love it so much.
Electronic music, for me, affects so many of my emotional states at
once. This mix is very representative of that. There are moments of
tenderness and moments of elation. There can be tracks that are
perfect for peak hours at a club, and then it can be very
reflective. The name is something that came to me immediately the
moment I finished the mix. Within hours of its completion, a legend
of a human being passed and left us. In many ways a father figure
to me, he is going to leave a huge hole in many people's lives. But
to be honest, he lived an extraordinary life, and memories of him
will keep us all comforted. The name also stems from an epic track
in this mix by Grimes, and I'll think of Pete every time I hear it.
