On today's episode, Dennis sits down with Sports Chiropractor and
mental and physical chemistry researcher, Dr. Carmen Romano. Dr.
Carmen Romano received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from
Bridgeport University in December of 1999. After earning his
degree, Dr Romano spent a year practicing in Italy before
returning to New Jersey. Since 2003, he has owned Madison Medical
& Sports Rehabilitation Center in Madison, NJ. Madison
Medical is an integrative medical center that includes Internal
Medicine, Functional Medicine, Physical Medicine, Chiropractic,
Podiatric and Physical Therapy services to patients. He also owns
and operates R3 Recovery Lab which offers cryotherapy, infrared
sauna and pneumatic compression services as well as cold-pressed
juices, detox cleanses and butter brain coffee.
At Madison Medical, Dr Romano has created a center where patients
receive immediate attention from a collaborating team of whole
body wellness focused practitioners. What began as a small
Chiropractic office in 2003 has grown to a 10,000 square foot
integrative medical center through Dr Romano’s philosophy
and vision. Patient care at Madison Medical is a collaborative
process with providers co-treating to address systemic issues
along with current symptoms. Visits may include hormone and
micro-nutrient testing, diagnostic ultrasound and x-ray, gait
evaluations and orthotics to identify and address root causes of
the symptoms being experienced.
Dr Romano’s newest venture, R3Recovery Lab was born out of the
observed need for complimentary services such as Cryotherapy,
Infrared Sauna and Pneumatic Compression to aid athletes in real
recovery. Recognizing that pro athletes have access to these
types of services every day, Dr Romano created R3 so that the
“weekend-warrior” type athlete or average patient recovering from
injury or illness could also benefit from these services.Today,
J.P. gets deep into sharing his story starting from what inspired
him to join the Army, the loss of his friend Justin while on
mission and how that impacted his view on life, the day of his
incident that led to his tragic injuries, his battle with
recovery and his 12 suicide attempts, keeping faith when you're
in the darkness, the book he wrote "Walking Again" and the
support to handle life together.
Today, Dennis and Dr. Romano talk about the wear and tear of the
"grind", the effects of diet on the body and the brain, tweaking
your diet to fit your lifestyle, importance of relationships and
how it corresponds with your mental health, creating goals for
yourself and business advice.
