This week, we conclude our two-part special report on
Afghanistan. What was once America's longest war is now the
world's worst humanitarian crisis. Yes, the Taliban are a de
facto reality in Afghanistan. But should international sanctions
against the Islamists target all Afghans? And what about the
millions who face starvation and death due to a collapsed
economy?
In this episode, Jack Stone Truitt and Monica Hunter-Hart report
on the regional and political solutions prescribed by those who
are wary of the Taliban, as well as those who want to help the
country. Truitt talks to the ambassadors of two of Pakistan’s
closest neighbors, Iran and Pakistan. Hunter-Hart connects with
the Afghan resistance on the ground, as well experts in
Washington.
