3 // Lenny Kravitz wrote my sick note

This is my third episode in my journal series. This is a snippet
from an experience I had in 2008, looking back now I see the
spiritual message in it. I hope you hear it too.  This is
the one when Lenny Kravitz wrote my sick note. I worked in PR and
ended up on stage with the band before a penthouse afterparty at
Bono's Clarence Hotel in Dublin. I didn't turn up for work the
following day, so Lenny pulled one out the cards for me and wrote
my sick note.  This is the story of my transition out of
Public Relations, and being inspired by both Lenny's wise words
"keep moving forward and upward" and "words are extremely
powerful". These powerful life-changing chats with Lenny and also
my PR Managing Director's words to me that the following day "the
sky's the limit when your heart is in it" both changed my
perception of life, my career, and bending society's expectations
of what my life should look like.  That August 2008, I
handed in his sick note along with my resignation and never
looked back. I hope I am able to inspire you to follow your
heart, your dreams and let your words pave your path
forward.  His words "Let love rule" have become my daily
mantra.  Love even when you don't feel like it, give
unconditional love and offer acceptance, let go and let people be
who they are, love them for who they are, it's a freeing
experience!
