Early this week, Representatives Lauren Underwood, Alma Adams,
Cory Booker, and members of the Black Maternal Health Caucus
announced the Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act of 2021. The
piece of legislation builds on existing maternal health
legislation and seeks to mitigate racial and ethnic disparities
in maternal health outcomes.

Health Affairs editors Leslie Erdelack and Jessica Bylander break
down what's new and important in the Momnibus 2.0 bill, noting
the inclusion of initiatives to mitigate climate change-related
risks for moms and babies and grow the perinatal workforce.

Health Affairs is planning a cluster of papers on perinatal
mental health, to be published in October of 2021. Don't miss the
issue and subscribe to the journal.
