Amos 1:3-2:5 • Judgment on the Nations

Joel McCarty • Amos begins his prophecies of judgment by focusing
on the nations surrounding Israel. Through the words of Yahweh,
it is made clear that God's sovereign rule extends beyond His
covenant people to the entire earth. However, throughout this
book, there are whispers of hope for all peoples. It is true -
the justice of God extends to all. But so does His mercy. And
that’s good news.
