discussing Toronto's homelessness crisis. Anti-poverty activists
have long been calling for the city to take action to bolster
Toronto'ss overcrowded shelter system and fund more affordable
housing. As extreme cold weather this winter puts massive strain on
the shelter system, city hall faces added public pressure to take
action. On this episode, CJRU reporter Mick Sweetman brings us the
latest on the status of Toronto’s homelessness crisis.And host
Emily Joveski speaks with Patricia O'sConnell, the Executive
Director of the Toronto agency, Sistering, to find out more about
the complex ways women in particular experience homelessness and
precarious housing.
