Crisis reveals us. It reveals our hearts, our weaknesses, it reveals where we have faith and where we do not. In the encounter between Jesus and the father of the demon-possessed boy who took his son to Jesus for healing, he says to Jesus, “I do believe. Help me in my unbelief.” This is often the cry of our hearts when life feels overwhelming. Jesus faithfully responds with giving us Himself.
TABLE TALK QUESTIONS:
In the story of your life, when have you felt overwhelmed and lost faith in who God says that He is? How did God meet you in that experience?
What is it that shakes your faith? Financial stress? Relational breakdown? Career struggles? Fear of what others will think of you? What difference would it make in your life if you had full confidence in God regarding those issues?
