How we speak to each other, how we appeal to change in each other, how we allow ourselves to talk to ourselves. This passage shows us how the Law has deceived us, beaten us up and left us desperately trying to grow up with a method never meant to do that. We must understand the role of Law in our lives, or we will keep those around us wondering why they are so uncomfortable and unsafe around us.

Can you recall times when you have used a form of the Law to try to get your spouse, child or a friend to change?
How do those around you respond when you come at them with any form of the Law to draw to their attention their sin or neglect or failure? How can you trusting the power of the Spirit protect and free your children when they fail or break your trust?
