39-year-old Master Sergeant Joshua Wheeler, a member of Delta force, was killed during a raid on an Isis prison to rescue hostages. The operation was a joint mission with Kurdish fighters to rescue what they thought were going to be Kurdish hostages. Instead found several members of the Iraqi Security force, a number of Iraqi civilians and former ISIS soldiers accused of being spies.

Secretary of Defense Ash Carter told reporters that this won't be the last time US Troops will be in harms away in the ongoing fight against ISIS.
