Obama orders first ground troops to Syria. About 50 Special Operations Forces have been dispatched to the war torn region to assist Syrian rebels and Kurdish forces as advisers. This goes against previous statements by President Obama in which he stated that he would never put boots on the grounds in Syria. Pentagon sources tell CNN that Obama told Defense Secretary Carter that he wanted to see progress against ISIS. Green Berets, Navy Seals and Delta Force are said to either be on their way or currently in Norther Syria. Us Forces will support rebels in their attempt to retake Raqqa from ISIS.
