President Barack Obama grew emotional Tuesday as he made a passionate call for a national "sense of urgency" to limit gun violence.
He was introduced by Mark Barden, whose son Daniel was killed in the 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut. Obama circled back to that shooting in the final moments of his speech.
"Every time I think about those kids, it gets me mad," Obama said, pausing to wipe away tears.
Leader of armed protesters in Oregon took out $530,000 federal loan
Ammon Bundy, a leader of the armed protesters who took over a federal building in Oregon, and his family are known for battling the federal government.
But Bundy told CNN on Tuesday that he's not opposed to government and said that taking a six-figure loan from the Small Business Administration doesn't conflict with his political philosophy.
Tonya Couch, the mother of "affluenza" teen Ethan Couch, is set to be extradited to Texas from Los Angeles. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Sergio Tapia approved an extradition waiver for Couch on Tuesday. She will be returned to Texas, where prosecutors have charged her with hindering the apprehension of a felon. Her bail, which was set in Texas, is set at $1 million and must be paid in that state.
Bundy borrowed $530,000 in 2010 for his company, Valet Fleet Service LLC, according to public records on usaspending.gov. Valet Fleet Service is a truck maintenance company in Arizona.
