The Legacy Of Leslie Nielsen

In this week's episode we look at the work of the late, great Leslie Nielsen. Few actors are a better example of the rule of playing it straight to get even more laughs. Originally starring as a serious actor in movies with awesome titles like "Forbidden Planet" and "Ransom!", Nielsen took a supporting role in weird little movie called "Airplane!" that just happened to become one of the biggest surprise hits in history and his career spun off in a whole new direction. Somewhere between telling Robert Hays to not call him Shirley, starring in "Naked Gun" movies, and finally making an honest woman out of Dorothy Zbornak in the last episode of "Golden Girls", Leslie Nielsen earned his lifetime pass, and our eternal gratitude.
