#25 – Carlo Alberto Boano

In this English-language episode of the podcast we welcome Carlo
Alberto Boano from the Institute of Technical Informatics, where
he leads the LENS group, who was honored with the Award for
Excellence in Teaching for his course “Embedded Internet.” In
this conversation he shares his international journey from Italy
through Sweden and Germany to Graz, where he now works in the
field of Embedded Systems and the Internet of Things. He talks
about his research on tiny battery-free IoT devices that enable
sustainable smart-city applications and about his passion for
teaching. He also explains how he motivates students from
bachelor’s to PhD level with interactive methods and hands-on
projects, why sustainability is central to his work, and how
innovative approaches such as feedback tools and open lab formats
foster enthusiasm for learning and independence.

Carlo Alberto Boano vom Institut für Technische Informatik (wo er
die LENS-Gruppe leitet), der für seine Lehrveranstaltung
