Rund um Hund macht eine Serie! Und zwar zum Thema Strassenhunde. In dieser Serie werden Zahlen und Fakten genannt, es werden von den Eindrücken aus Rumänien berichtet und einiges mehr. Eine Serie über Strassenhunde also - von A bis Z. In dieser ersten Folge der Serie, "Die Strassenhundekrise", stelle ich erstmal die Zahlen und Fakten vor. Wie viele Strassenhunde gibt es in Europa? Was tun die Länder gegen die zunehmende Anzahl von Strassenhunden, was sind ihre Strategien? Und warum wird überhaupt von einer Krise gesprochen, von der Wissenschaft aber auch von der UNO? In dieser Folge besprechen wir ein Trainingstool, das in unseren Kursen immer wieder verwendet wird. Und das im Hundetraining unseres Erachtens oftmals zu kurz kommt: Meditationen und Visualisierungen. Dabei sind dies beides Hilfsmittel, um gerade Menschen mit etwas schwierigeren Hunden super zu unterstützen. Und dass Meditationen und Visualisierungen helfen können, ist nicht nur uns aus eigener Erfahrung bewusst. Die erfolgreiche Skirennfahrer:innen Marco Odermatt und Sofia Goggia setzen ebenso auf Meditationen und Visualisierungen wie dies etwa die Tennisspielerin Serena Williams oder Basketballer Michael Jordan getan haben. Auch die Wissenschaft belegt die Vorteile von Meditationen und "guided" oder "mental imaginery": Bessere Stressbewältigung und generell weniger wahrgenommener Distress oder Reduktion von Angst (etwa vor einer Operation) sind nur einige Punkte. Komm also mit auf eine Reise. Auf eine Reise in einen Bereich des Hundetrainings, bei dem ggf. bis jetzt gedacht hast, er hätte gar nichts mit Hundetraining zu tun. "Wenn dein Hund zu sehr erregt ist, lernt er eh nichts mehr!" - eine Aussage, die sicherlich schon viele Hundemenschen gehört haben. Aber stimmt das? Wie hängen der Erregungszustand des Hundes und seine Fähigkeit, zu lernen, zusammen? Und was sagt da die Wissenschaft dazu? Darüber spreche ich in dieser Folge von Rund um Hund.
