mid-birth from a rare liver condition which led to the stillbirth
of her twins in 2016, (3:04) waking up a month later from the
coma and having had undergone a liver transplant, (3:50) coming
to terms with the organ donor and finding light at the end of the
tunnel, (4:17) having had spent the last 10 years rebuilding her
life and building The Second Chance Project as a part of this,
(4:39) struggling with depression as a 21-year-old experiencing a
miscarriage and organ transplant, (5:06) starting small with The
Second Chance Project by telling her story at talks at
educational and professional institutions, (5:50) continuing her
advocacy work for organ donation through The Second Chance
Project, (6:02) recruiting speakers and motivating participants
to stay active, (7:12) the details of the organ donation process,
(8:21) meeting the organ donor's family, (9:30) the experience
for the organ donation recipient's family, (11:04) learning to be
resilient and rebuilding, (12:51) talking to educational and
medical institutions about the power of organ donation, (13:47)
finding a way out of depression through sports, (14:30)
completing 320 races thus far, (14:44) giving back to transplant
athletes and finding camaraderie at the British Transplant Games,
(19:32) supporting individuals with intellectually disabilities
through her day job at the Special Olympics and (32:48) improving
her mental health, mindset and life through sports.
