Robert Pickering – Fmr CEO of J.P. Morgan Cazenove (#18)

In this rather special podcast episode, we met with Robert
Pickering to discuss a wide range of topics concerning the
financial service industry. We especially talked about his
personal experiences gained over the course of an exceptional
career in this industry, the business history of UK's then most
prestigious corporate broker, which he led as CEO and therefore
also the evolution of the City of London since the 1980s. After
graduating from Oxford University with a degree in law, Robert
worked for Allen & Overy before joining the legendary
corporate broker Cazenove & Co. in 1985, where he was later
responsible for corporate finance and finally became CEO in 2001.
He was instrumental in the transformation of the business and
remained CEO of the joint venture JP. Morgan Cazenove. He is
currently Chair of the Board at Marex, a global financial
services platform.
