In the summer of 1999, he applies for an internship at a
tradefair booth and, four days later, is sitting with a client in
Zurich in aborrowed suit. 24 years later, he takes over the
leadership of Kearney in the DACH region. Dr. Marc Lakner,
Partner & Managing Director (Unit Head) Germany, Austria
& Switzerland at Kearney, talks about this in our new MIC
Podcast episode. After joining, he completed his doctorate,
became Partner in 2015 and co-led the Strategic Operations
Practice globally and in Europe.
Together we discuss how Kearney positions itself between strategy
and execution, what Germany’s best factories do differently, and
why, in his view, Germany does not have knowledge problem but an
execution problem. We also talk about the impact of AI on
industry and consulting, and the skills young people really need
to start a career in consulting.
An episode with exciting insights into operations, Germany as an
industrial location and the future of consulting.
