Bebebebeuuuuuuj (insert air horn sound)! We’re back! New year,
new tracks, new tracksuits – as is fitting for our casually
smart, leisurely-clothed guest! Yes, we’re doubling down on
harkening our hardcore heritage! So, join us for an inspiring,
snapbackin’, street-creddin’, anger-managin’ blast of an episode
with the one and only Chris of Saarland’s OG hardcore unit
Additional Time.
After we have unearthed every hatebreeding detail about the
long-spanning and far-reaching ventures of our illustrious guest,
we discuss another eclectic selection of fresh tunes, including
the recent releases by Møl – Dreamcrush (00:25:46), Fossilization
– Advent of Wounds (00:35:18), Kreator – Krushers of the World
(00:43:58), Skulld – Abyss Calls to Abyss (00:53:00), and
Converge – Love Is Not Enough (01:03:45).
As usual, the “lost & found” section of the show comes with a
new category! This episode, we are looking for “the album with
the best vocal performance”. Polish your pipes and fasten your
false chords, as we plunge into the pleasure grottos of bawling
perfection, indulging another selection of questionable choices,
including Nine Inch Nails – Pretty Hate Machine (01:15:51),
Killswitch Engage – The End of Heartache (01:27:30), letlive. –
The Blackest Beautiful (01:38:57), Dayseeker – Sleeptalk
(01:52:50), and last but not least, Leprous – Pitfalls
(02:02:42).
One more thing, as usual: We’re on Discord now! Come join
the cult! We would love for you to join the Earbvds family and
talk music with us!
Once again, we invite you to come along for this metallic journey
of epic proportions.

Blizzards couldn’t stop us. (Minor) car crashes couldn’t stop us.
Failing public transport couldn't sop us. Not even sleepy B️
could stop us.
Three weeks have passed since we recorded this one, and yet we
still cannot wipe the smiles off our faces. What wonderful bvds
you all are! Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for our
first Earbvds-Live-Show. Y'all truly made this a very special
episode that we will never forget! We love you!
For those of you who couldn’t be with us on that fateful, soul
cold night in early January – or for those of you who are keen to
hear if their funny heckle made the episode – , tune in as we
look back at what a fantastic year 2025 has been for heavy music
– and some other outrageously fringe genres ...
Witness maggots morph into moths, as we gather once more for our
annual ritual to find the one trve album that might unite all
bvds, as we move with unperturbed determination through a
whopping total of 148 (!!!) albums – never enough music –, in the
desperate hope that this year’s undisputed EARBVM of the year
will heal the gaping wounds of 2024 – never forget.
No detailed show notes this time, because, obviously, no
spoilers, duh.

Awwwright, bvds, open this fuckin’ pod up. Side to fuckin’ side.
Front to fuckin’ back. We’re back with another no-nonsense
episode, replete with two-stepping tantrums, windmilling
witticisms, and some crowd-killing conversation. Once again,
we’re joined by a fantastic guest for some insightful banter
‘bout bvds, beers, breakdowns, and bandanas: the rhyme spitting,
mosh-pitting, incredibly credible Ben from Saarland's very own
hate-breeding hardcore powerhouse DISLOCATE . Pump up your
sneakers and put on your favorite pair of mosh shorts: This one
hits harder than the streets of Saarbrooklyn!
After some deep talk with our guest, we discuss another eclectic
selection of new tunes, including the recent releases by Vower –
A Storm Lined with Silver (00:26:01), Biohazard – Divided We Fall
(00:36:55), Bell Witch & Aerial Ruin – Stygian Bough Vol. II
(00:43:23), Pupil Slicer – Fleshwork (01:12:16), Conjurer –
Unself (01:23:23), and Florence + The Machine – Everybody Scream
(01:33:55).
As usual, the “lost & found” section of the show comes with a
new category! This episode, we are looking for “the best album of
the 90s”. Strap on your inline skates, replenish your Walkman
with fresh batteries, and take a stroll down nostalgia lane with
us, as we embrace and celebrate a decade worth of (mostly)
fantastic heavy music, including Judas Priest – Painkiller
(01:51:36), Guns n’Roses – Use Your Illusions II (01:56:20),
Pantera – Vulgar Display of Power (02:03:38), Emperor – In the
Nightside Eclipse (02:08:57), Converge – When Forever Comes
Crashing (02:17:33), as well as Poison the Well – The Opposite of
December … A Season of Separation (02:27:17).

Say cheese, bvds – because this week, we’re back with another
R-rated episode – R stands for r-chitect, obviously – full of
refreshing opinions, rambunctious anecdotes, and ridiculous
analogies. Once again, we’re joined by a fantastic guest, the
amazingly talented and enigmatically handled Ronja
(@whoiskatharina), Saarland’s stealthiest scene sharpshooter,
capturing riffs, sweat, and occasional existential crises through
her ever-watchful lens. R you ready to rumble? Hold still, as we
pose for the ultimate metal centerfold.
After we give our guest’s flashing endeavors sufficient exposure,
we turn negatives into positives, as we discuss another eclectic
selection of new tunes, including the recent releases by vianova
– Hit it! (00:25:15), Greyhaven – Keep it Quiet (00:46:15),
Thrice – Horizons/West (00:53:45), Agriculture – The Spiritual
Sound (01:07:13), Igorrr – Amen (01:21:33), and Der Weg Einer
Freiheit – Innern (01:34:05).
As usual, the “lost & found” section of the show comes with a
new category! This episode, we are looking for our respective
“least favorite album by one of our favorite bands”. Trick or
treat yourselves to some preposterous polemics and surprising
twists and turns, as we shake up feelings like freshly developed
polaroids about In Flames – Siren Charms (01:47:15), Job For
A Cowboy – Sun Eater (01:55:42), Protest the Hero – Pacific Myth
(02:03:46), Hundredth – RARE (02:11:14), as well as While She
Sleeps – SO WHAT? (02:20:37).
As always, we're happy to provide a Spotify-playlist to
complement this episode for your convenience. Check it

From the gloomy shadows emerges a spectral figure, walking
ghostly to the sound of creaking strings, aching joints, and
shredding riffs. He has clenched his phantasmal fist to worship
the One who bestowed upon him the gifts of venomous velocity, and
who has punished him with frequent and foul-smelling urination.
Don’t know who we’re talking about? Well, he’s a tough guy, likes
it really rough guy, just can’t get enough guy, chest always so
puffed guy.
Still don’t know? He’s that bad type, make your mama sad type,
make your girlfriend mad type, might seduce your dad type.
Still don’t know? Well, our ghastly guest goes by many names, but
whether he guises himself as Billie or Fuchtel, you shall know
him as Greilich. Duh!
Or Chris. Chris is also fine.
Join us as we open our cellar doors for one of Saarland’s most
prolific and talented musicians, our most humble and gentle
guest: Chris of GEISTERFAUST, WALKING GHOSTPHASE, POISONED SPEED,
and PESTILENT PISS – just to name a few of his projects.
After a deep dive into our guest’s globetrotting ventures, we
discuss another eclectic selection of new tunes, including the
recent releases by Fit For A King – Lonely God (00:26:48),
Blackbraid – Blackbraid III (00:39:44), Phosphorus – Frail Grasp
of Broken Hands (00:52:25), Deftones – private music (01:02:05),
and Malevich – Under A Gilded Sun (01:12:21).
As usual, the “lost & found” section of the show comes with a
new category! This episode, we are looking for the “best
heartache/lovesick album”. Grab yourselves some tissues and a
bucketful of ice cream, as we unravel some big feelings to the
soundtrack of Dornenreich – Bitter Ists Dem Tod Zu Dienen
(01:24:53), Maybeshewill – Sing the Word Hope In Four Part
Harmony (01:32:25), Team Me – Blind As Night (01:41:18), I
Prevail – Heart Vs. Mind (01:49:45), and Biffy Clyro – A
Celebration of Endings (02:03:37).
As always, we're happy to provide a Spotify-playlist to
complement this episode for your convenience. Check it out!
Big shout-out to our good friend Timon of SEPARATØR for two
fantastic new tunes to spice up our conversation!

We love music. And we're buds. And we're so very trve. We're
EARBVDS! In Earbuds, we review and talk about music (mostly metal).
Old stuff. Recent stuff. Stuff that made us the passionate
musicians and metal aficionados that we are today. Sometimes we
agree. Sometimes we disagree. Sometimes we tear each other apart.
But we'll always have fun along the way. There might also be
guests. Who knows? This is the beginning of a journey... Want to be
our Earbud?
