Anmerkung: Die deutsche VO Folge dauert noch ein paar Tage - ich
hab z.Z. so viel zu tun aber wir wollen das nicht noch weiter
rausziehen, daher jetzt schonmal die englische Folge! Viel Spaß
dabei!

Welcome to a very special milestone for Radio
Rabenholz—our first-ever English episode!

For our very first Creator-Spotlight, we are
joined by one of the pillars and most recognizable faces of the
international Blood on the Clocktower community
Beardy!

In this episode, we dive deep into how a circle of strangers at a
convention in 2018 completely changed Beardy's life, how he
approaches teaching the game, and why creating a welcoming, safe
space for players is infinitely more important than chasing a
high win rate.

In this Episode, We Discuss:

From Pax to the Physical Grim: Beardy shares
his origin story, starting at PAX Australia in 2018 with a
game of Trouble Brewing run by TPI's own Evan, to backing the
Kickstarter, and finally running games himself.

The Magic of the Online Space: How joining
the Australian Discord in early 2023 turned a fun board game
into an absolute addiction and paved the way for lifelong
friendships.

Building Communities & Keeping Them:
Beardy shares his wisdom on managing a local group. He
reveals his secrets to player retention, including creating
atmospheric setups and introducing "Death
Chocolates".

The "Buddhist" Technique: How experienced
veterans should behave when playing with beginners. Beardy
explains why taking a step back and letting new players
experience the joy of discovery themselves is the ultimate
green flag.

Storyteller Win Rates vs. Player Win Rates:
Why players should completely ignore their win rates (and
focus on "moral victories" instead), while Storytellers
should monitor theirs to ensure their game bags remain
balanced over time.

The Huntsman Debate: Beardy's infamous hot
take on why the Huntsman is effectively an Outsider (and
definitely the worst Townsfolk in the game).

Beardy's Quickfire Round

We put Beardy on the spot with some of our soon to be classic
quickfire questions:

Favorite Demon: Fang Gu – for the terrifying
jumping mechanic and the beautiful outsider paranoia it
creates.

Favorite Minion: Baron – you do your damage
during setup, and then you are completely free to play as
chaotically as you want.

Favorite Outsider: Damsel – a
heart-attack-inducing role that offers the ultimate
satisfying feeling when you successfully bluff your way
through.

Favorite Townsfolk: Fisherman – it allows
the Storyteller to give highly flavorful, advice-like
guidance rather than dry, direct info.

Favorite Script: Harold Holt’s Revenge
(classic Leviathan), Midnight Oasis (classic Atheist), and
the chaotic Teensyville classic Nobody Fucking Move.

Biggest Player Green Flag: The ability to
die laughing—even as the Demon.

Hardest Character to Storytell: Leviathan –
because without the nightly kills, building enough late-game
ambiguity is a massive creative challenge.

Mein Archiv
