Tenor Benjamin Bernheim takes aim at the classical music industry:
too many blind dates when it comes to new productions, too much
power in the hands of directors, and too much panic about losing
relevance. In a conversation with BackstageClassical, he calls for
new ways of working, greater honesty, and the courage to accept
opera for what it is: a valuable niche art form. Why less can also
mean better — and why, in the end, only quality and authenticity
matter.
