  4. Campbell Johnstone Recap: How To Crush Stigma: Being The First Openly Gay All Black
How to crush stigma : being the first openly gay All Black with
Campbell Johnstone

Campbell Johnstone is a Former All Black and Crusader. He also
played rugby in Russia, Wales and France.  Campbell grew up
in rural New Zealand near Hastings, where his love for rugby grew
everyday when he played out in the paddocks with his brothers. He
spoke to me about his visualisation practices that he believes
helped him achieve that coveted spot on the team as an All
Black.

Campbell has recently opened up and spoken about his sexuality.
Campbell is now recognised as the first openly gay All Black. He
is speaking up now to try to eliminate the stigma around being
gay in professional sport, hoping to help others come out and
have a different experience than he did.

Campbell was incredibly vulnerable and honest and said that he
suppressed this part of himself through his entire career out of
fear that it would derail his dream of being an All Black. I
cannot stress enough how courageous and brave Campbell has been.
I am incredibly honoured to have him on the show.
