Transforming Pain Into Purpose: Matt Brown's Story of Resilience
and Mental Health Advocacy 

I had the absolute honour of sitting down with my friend Matt
Brown to talk about his life, the lessons he has learnt and his
life’s mission. 

Matt Brown, is a New Zealand born Samoan and an author,
communicator, an internationally acclaimed barber and hair
artist; known for giving great cuts and inspiring great
men.

This is the second time I had the privilege to interview Matt. We
spoke about where he is on his journey now, and all of the
incredible things both Matt and his amazing wife Sarah are doing
for the people of Aotearoa.

Matt and Sarah opened The She is Not Your Rehab Art Gallery in
Christchurch, displaying the thought-provoking body of work
entitled, “Who is She?” These prints are incredible and the
funding goes to an amazing cause.

Along with the Art Gallery, Sarah and Matt recently launched the
“Inner Boy” App, which is an app designed to support men in
healing from intergenerational trauma and abuse. This is a free
app and has already helped so many people.
