Professor Matthew Kiernan is a world-renowned clinical academic
and scientist, serving as the Chief Executive Officer and
Institute Director at Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA).
His research primarily focuses on neurodegenerative diseases,
including motor neurone disease (MND) and frontotemporal
dementia. Matthew is also a practicing neurologist, and both my
mother and I have had the privilege of being his patients.

In this Project 100 episode we delved into the fascinating world
of neuroscience, exploring the complexities of the brain, the
definitions and risks associated with dementia, motor neuron
disease (MND), and Parkinson’s. Our conversation covered
available treatments, the impact of lifestyle factors, prevention
strategies, tips on improving brain health and much more.
