The podcast discussed the fears and challenges international
students face when moving to Germany, specifically to Augsburg and
studying in Hochschule Augsburg. Topics included the difficulties
of navigating German bureaucracy, such as applying for residence
permits and managing documentation. It also explored the social
challenges of making new friends, understanding the German
mentality, and finding a job. The conversation highlighted
financial struggles and adapting to a new academic system. The
guest, a Ukrainian student, shared her personal story of moving to
Germany during the war. She spoke about her two-and-a-half-year
experience, touching on the support she received from teachers,
adjusting to differences in grading systems, and overcoming
obstacles in her studies. It was an insightful look at both the
struggles and the support systems available for international
students.
