The history of political trials in the United States has garnered
some attention recently, not the least because of the Netflix
production about the trial of the Chicago 7 that came out last
fall. Less known than the events that unfolded after the 1968
Democratic convention in Chicago but no less interesting was the
trial of 28 anti-Vietnam War activists in Camden, New Jersey,
five years later. In this episode, Anja Schüler talks to Michelle
Nickerson about her ongoing study of the Camden 28. Michelle
Nickerson is a historian of women and gender, U.S. politics,
social movements, cities and suburbs, and American religion at
Loyola University. For the past semester, she has been a
Fulbright professor at the HCA.
