What if discovering where you belong begins with having the courage to step somewhere unfamiliar?

Richard G. Riccardi was once an irregular and uninspired churchgoer. Then he made an unusual commitment: visit 33 different places of worship in one year.

What began as a personal experiment became a transformative journey through different faith traditions, cultures and communities. Along the way, Richard discovered the power of genuine hospitality, the importance of shared human values and the possibility of finding connection in unexpected places.

In this episode of Mirror Talk: Soulful Conversations, Richard joins Tobi Ojekunle to explore what it means to approach life with an open heart and mind, challenge our assumptions and find belonging in a world that often emphasizes our differences.

Richard is a writer, mentor, entrepreneur, investor, attorney and CPA. He is also the author of The Wandering Worshipper and the voice behind 52 Steps Forward, a collection of thoughtful reflections on life and personal growth.

A thought to carry with you:

“Approach life with an open heart and mind, anticipate goodness.” — Richard G. Riccardi

Whether you are questioning your faith, searching for meaningful community or simply hoping to understand people who see the world differently, this conversation invites you to approach life with greater curiosity, compassion and courage.

Stagnation often starts when we stop holding a learning position. Here is how to move forward with real integrity.

We often get trapped in cycles of cunning behaviour or trying to control outcomes, which cuts us off from the people around us. When we prioritise genuine fellowship over individual gain, we remove the barriers that keep us stagnant. This conversation explores how to shift your perspective to foster better teamwork and honest engagement.

Adopting a learning position means accepting the world as it is rather than trying to manipulate it. By choosing to reject conniving habits, you create space for authentic connection that actually sustains you. This is the foundation for lasting personal growth and finding peace amidst the noise.

What happens when the future you thought you were building suddenly disappears?

In this deeply personal episode of Mirror Talk: Soulful Conversations, Tobi sits down with Dale Atkinson, a father, entrepreneur and cancer advocate whose life changed dramatically in October 2024.

Within a matter of weeks, Dale’s partner underwent lung cancer surgery; he received an advanced cancer diagnosis on his youngest son’s first birthday, he lost his mother, and he was given a prognosis of less than twelve months.

At one stage, Dale was admitted to palliative care while hospice arrangements were being discussed.

But his journey took an unexpected turn.

In March 2025, scans showed that the metastases were no longer visible and the primary tumour had reduced significantly. By June, the tumour and metastases were no longer visible on his scans. Later that year, renewed activity appeared in a lymph node, confronting Dale once again with the uncertainty that comes with living with cancer.

In this conversation, Dale speaks openly about fear, grief, parenthood, hope, faith, treatment, setbacks and the importance of making informed health decisions.

We also explore the dangers cancer patients face when searching for answers online, including misinformation, exaggerated claims and people attempting to profit from vulnerability.

Dale shares what his journey has taught him about asking better questions, working with trusted healthcare professionals, supporting other patients without losing himself in the process, and redefining what success means when life becomes painfully fragile.

What if the reason your manifestation is not working has less to do with trying harder—and more to do with what you are unconsciously resisting?

In this episode of Mirror Talk: Soulful Conversations, Tobi sits down with bestselling author and energetic alignment guide Kelsey Aida for a deeply personal conversation about manifestation, resistance, emotional healing, self-love, divine timing, and what it means to move from surviving to truly thriving.

Kelsey reflects on her own experience with depression and a dark night of the soul, and how that chapter of her life led her deeper into spirituality, personal development, self-inquiry, and the work she now shares with others.

Together, we explore why someone can desperately want love, abundance, healing, success, or change while another part of them may still feel afraid to receive it. Kelsey explains how subconscious resistance can appear through fear, limiting beliefs, emotional patterns, self-sabotage, and attachment to familiar ways of being.

We also discuss the relationship between manifestation and surrender: When should we take action? When should we let go? And how do we honour our desires while remaining open to divine timing and direction?

Kelsey shares why she sees self-love, curiosity, emotional processing, and compassion as important parts of getting unstuck—and why manifestation is not simply about forcing positive thoughts or repeating affirmations until something happens.

In this conversation, you’ll hear about:

Why manifestation can feel like it has stopped working

How hidden resistance can interfere with the things we consciously desire

Kelsey’s personal journey through depression and spiritual transformation

Why self-love matters when learning to receive

Recognising subconscious fear and self-sabotage

Processing difficult emotions instead of suppressing them

Manifestation versus control

Surrender, faith, divine timing, and co-creation

Moving beyond survival mode into a fuller experience of life

A practical approach to becoming curious about your resistance

What if becoming whole requires you to release some of the identities, beliefs and versions of yourself that once made you feel safe?

In this episode of Mirror Talk: Soulful Conversations, Tobi sits down with Cristine Hull, a writer, speaker, teacher and Doctor of Natural Medicine whose life has been shaped by addiction recovery, Christian faith, psychology, meditation, personal reinvention and a continuing exploration of consciousness and what she calls ego-management.

Cristine has lived through several profound transitions. At twenty, she experienced a dramatic shift from cocaine addiction toward Christian faith. Years later, an encounter with a former Buddhist monk during a period of intense anxiety challenged her understanding of healing, spirituality and the ways truth can sometimes arrive outside the frameworks we have built around it.

Her professional journey has been equally unconventional. Cristine has worked in substance-abuse counselling, school psychology and clinical mental health before eventually stepping away from a thriving practice and exploring more integrative approaches to human wellbeing.

But this conversation goes far beyond professional credentials.

Cristine opens up about changing her marriage, family life, home, name and career; confronting unsuccessful business approaches; learning to recognise the ego even within spiritual growth; and discovering why surrender has become one of the defining themes of her life.

We explore:

What addiction may be searching for beneath the surface

Faith, spirituality and the courage to question familiar beliefs

How ego can disguise itself as certainty, enlightenment or the need to be right

Remaining open to unconventional ideas without abandoning discernment

Why personal transformation sometimes requires letting an old identity die

The difference between surrender and giving up

Cristine’s idea of “being at zero” and returning to neutrality

Physical, psychological, spiritual, relational and financial wholeness

Taking the next step when life does not reveal the entire path

What it means to live a truly soulful life

One of the most powerful ideas Cristine brings into the conversation is simple:

Freedom may exist on the other side of the thing we are afraid to release.

Sometimes growth is not about adding another achievement, identity, strategy or answer.

Sometimes it begins with letting go.

What if the pain that slows you down becomes the very thing that reveals your purpose?

In this episode of Mirror Talk: Soulful Conversations, Tobi sits down with John Graham Harper, founder and CEO of Lumaflex, to explore his journey from competitive athlete battling injuries to entrepreneur building an award-winning red light therapy company.

John shares how his own search for recovery introduced him to red light therapy and eventually inspired him to create a portable, wearable solution that could make the technology more accessible beyond clinics and treatment rooms. Lumaflex’s Body Pro was recognized by TIME as one of the Best Inventions of 2023.

But this conversation goes far beyond technology.

John opens up about rejection, heartbreak, self-reflection, gratitude and the difficult seasons that shaped him. We explore what entrepreneurship teaches us about resilience, why integrity matters when building something meaningful, how empowering the right people can accelerate growth, and what it takes to remain grounded when recognition and success begin to arrive.

We also unpack the science and philosophy behind red and near-infrared light therapy, including how photobiomodulation interacts with cellular processes and why recovery has become such an important part of modern health and athletic performance.

For John, the bigger mission is not simply building a successful wellness company. It is giving people more tools to take an active role in their recovery, performance and long-term well-being.

This is a conversation about turning adversity into innovation, pain into purpose, and personal healing into something capable of serving others.

What if reinventing yourself isn’t about becoming someone else—but expanding your understanding of who you already are?

In this episode of Mirror Talk: Soulful Conversations, Tobi sits down with Dr. Srini Pillay, Harvard-trained psychiatrist, brain-imaging researcher, author, entrepreneur, and global voice in neuroscience, leadership, creativity, spirituality, and human potential.

Together, they explore what happens inside the brain when we live in survival mode, why relentless focus may actually limit creativity, and how belief, imagination, spirituality, and possibility-thinking can influence the way we experience ourselves and the world around us.

Dr. Pillay also reflects on his journey from South Africa to Harvard and shares what years of studying the brain have taught him about identity, fear, reinvention, and our capacity to move beyond perceived limitations.

In this conversation, we explore:

• What reinvention really means—and how to change without losing yourself

• What happens to the brain under chronic pressure, anxiety, and survival mode

• Why the brain needs both focus and unfocus

• How imagination, play, mind-wandering, and creativity support better thinking

• How our beliefs influence what we notice, attempt, and become

• The relationship between spirituality, mindset, healthspan, and longevity

• How to balance inner awareness with ambition, discipline, and hard work

• What neuroscience can teach us about possibility and human potential

• The opportunities and risks of AI and emerging technology

• How to recognize possibility when one chapter of life appears to be ending

One of the deeper invitations in this episode is simple: your present circumstances do not necessarily define the limits of your future.

Sometimes what feels like an ending may be the beginning of a very different way of seeing yourself.
