Tja - was tun? Dearest audience! This 350th edition of "XtraChill" is something very special for many reasons - and the semicircular episode anniversary is just one of many highlights. For the first time since the relaunch of this podcast in summer 2016, a podcast episode was not created in the home studio, but was produced in another location. Because actually today, on July 15th, 2021, the big listener request concert was supposed to take place - but unfortunately only one (!) listener has managed to send in a music request. Well - what to do? Fortunately, Plan B worked, because my dear nephew and podcast intern Michel stepped into the breach and selected his 13 favorites from a pool of 40 tracks. And not only that: he also determined the order of his playlist, photographed a beautiful themed picture for this second part of the "XL Summer Special Trilogy" and made his children's room available for the recording - where fortunately Andreas' old iMac has a new home which has been used for "XtraChill" for many years. So dear Andreas just had to pack the microphone and cycle to Bonn so that Michel's rescue operation could succeed. Many thanks at this point also to regular listener Roland, whose music request was also taken into account in the set.

After seven years, summer is finally starting again with an "XL Summer Special Trilogy"! Fans who have been listening to this podcast at least since 2014 may still remember that Andreas and Jürgen reserved the three episodes for three long themed episodes before the four-week summer break - and this beautiful tradition shall revive today, on July 1st, 2021, with episode 349. For the first summer episode, dear Andreas used a concept that he had developed over the past few years for today's date in the middle of the calendar year: the Bergfest! We look back on the first half of the year and, unlike last time, only artists and projects appear today who made their debut on "XtraChill" in the past six months. Enjoy this exciting and varied retrospective!

Shortly before the longest day of the year, on July 15, 2021, episode 348 of "XtraChill" appears - and the world is slowly brightening up - thanks to the beautiful early summer weather and the falling number of infections in this country. Even so, we should all continue to be careful - and what's better for retreating than immersing yourself in that fresh, podsafe playlist?! Dear Andreas has again put together six tracks to two-packs, which sometimes have more, sometimes less in common. Have fun listening - and don't forget: Send feedback to my email address or as comments on my Soundcloud profile or YouTube channel! Please note the renewed call to help creating an episode for this year's "XL Summer Special Trilogy". More details in episode 346 (in english language, too)!

The early summer is finally taking off - it was about time, wasn't it? Today, on June 1st 2021, we are indulging not only in the sunny weather but also in the steadily falling incidences in Germany! At the center of episode 347 are two "Threesomes" from the chillout and deep chillout area. The two sets are flanked by lo-fi downtempo pop at the beginning and a short visit to the dub or minimal techno sector at the end. "XtraChill" receives strong support today from the labels "MOR Records" and "Drift Deeper Recordings" - and after a long time the platform "Jamendo.com" is also contributing music to the show again. Throw yourself (like dear Andreas) into the next best hammock - and enjoy this great mix of music! Please note the renewed call to help creating an episode for this year's "XL Summer Special Trilogy". More details in episode 346 (in english language, too)!

Juni 2021! Viel Spaß bei dieser tollen "XtraChill"-Geburtstagssause! Today, on May 15th, 2021, it will be the fifteenth anniversary of the birth of my little music podcast! Unfortunately, the party atmosphere is also falling victim to the pandemic this year - but dear Andreas does not allow himself to be dragged down and still celebrates! Because incidences do not play a role in virtual space. And so, in this very special episode, fourteen guests will bump up with their music in the podcast studio. That alone is something special, in addition, the division of the tracks is different today than usual and there is a special goodie on top: this 346th episode of "XtraChill" is being produced for the first time with a higher bit rate of 192 kBit! ATTENTION: Call for cooperation! A new edition of the "XL Summer Special Trilogy" is planned for the summer and one of the three episodes should be designed by you listeners. Write an eMail with your favorite "XtraChill" artist and name a podsafes piece that you would like to hear on the show. You are also welcome to send a short moderation (in german or english) and announce the track yourself. Deadline is June 15th, 2021!

And again the traditional "Dance into May" falls victim to the pandemic! Although: even without Corona restrictions, the cold and wet weather would not have really made you want to go. And so we spend May Day 2021 cozy at home - where else, right ?! Dear Andreas will do everything to distract you fans from all awkward things for at least an hour - with the support of his guests, who have provided a lot of podsafe music for this 345th episode of "XtraChill". The playlist presents an exciting musical rollercoaster, because two very different styles of music compete against each other in pairs of songs: Dub Techno against Ambient! Whoever wins the game is decided by the listeners for themselves! Have fun!

ATTENTION: Unfortunately, this episode was done a little under time pressure and while producing it I didn't notice that the stereo balance in my narration is very left-leaning. Sorry for that! A reworked version of this episode is available on my new YouTube-Channel! In terms of weather, April has been a disaster so far! At least here in the Voreifel, because since the last edition on Maundy Thursday the temperatures have decreased massively and there was more snow than in January! These capricious weather conditions are of course not unusual at this time of year, but spring can now slowly get on going, today, on April 15, 2021. That is why dear Andreas has put two "Threesomes" on the playlist again, although that was planned for May. But this "spring" urgently needs to be cheered on - with this 344th episode of "XtraChill" it will hopefully succeed!

Abwechslung garantiert! The much-announced "Easter lockdown" will not take place after all - but for dear Andreas it will, because he has taken Maundy Thursday, which falls on April 1st in 2021, off to enjoy a long holiday weekend - at home of course! If your Easter days have to take place in a small group again this year, then with episode 343 of "XtraChill" you have at least top-class entertainment. In addition to some topic-related song pairs, the playlist also offers many new artists that will arouse your interest. Variety guaranteed!

While a violent spring storm is passing outside the studio window, dear Andreas is sitting warm and toasty in front of his microphone to create this 342nd episode of "XtraChill" for you fans - today, on March 15, 2021. To give the second season finally a boost, the current playlist focuses again on two "threesomes", each with an interesting group topic. In addition, Andreas goes into the cover artwork of his guests, as well as the artistically designed theme images of "XtraChill" - and gives new listeners interesting information about his show!

Those two "threesomes" in the previous episode apparently inspired nature, because in the last few days we got a mild foretaste of the upcoming spring almost everywhere. But before it's official start in just three weeks, today, on March 1st 2021, we will first take care of episode 341 of "XtraChill" - for which dear Andreas has once again unearthed many great tracks from the depths of the Internet! Enjoy this fresh selection of podsafe music and support my guests with feedback and the purchase / streaming of the music!

Actually today would be "Rose Monday" and thus the highest carnival holiday in the Rhineland - and elsewhere. Actually - because unfortunately we are still in a pandemic situation and the whole carnival season was canceled or shut down months ago - which wouldn't bother dear Andreas at all. But: unfortunately this also caused the annual carnival escape to beautiful Zeeland to go down the drain! The popular hideaway on the Dutch coast unfortunately had to be canceled. And so today, on February 15th 2021, we're all be left out! But instead of getting angry, let's put this inconvenience aside and just enjoy this 340th episode of "XtraChill".

Genuss pur! We continue to struggle through the pandemic with lockdowns, travel restrictions and contact bans. In the meantime, many people only say: close your eyes and go for it! But not your ears, because otherwise you fans would simply miss this 339th episode of "XtraChill", which dear Andreas put on the server today, February 1st, 2021! Almost all tracks are from the current year and you can indulge in the musical escapism that this podcast enables twice a month. Pure pleasure!

By January 15th, everyday life will be back to us - even if in 2021 the term "everyday life" is defined very differently than usual due to the Corona situation. In order to distract us from the lockdown, which has since been reshaped, let's take a look at the "XtraChill" music box, which is full because of the past holidays. Because the labels prefer to throw their annual "year-end compilations" on the market at the end of the year - and dear Andreas has not only struck gold on these samplers: Episode 338 offers one last look at the musical happening at the end of 2020 - new releases and even a new net label included!

Frohes Neues Jahr - Happy New Year! "It can only get better!" - I have heard this sentence very often in the past few days when I was talking to friends and acquaintances about the upcoming New Year. One thing is certain: the year 2020 will surely go down in history - because of the Corona situation with its many victims and restrictions, which is quite understandable. But at least for "XtraChill" I can say that it was not a bad year, because despite the pandemic I was able to distract you fans from the Covid19 events twice a month - with the active support of my guests and the affiliated labels! Thanks to their creativity, today, on January 1st, 2021, I can look back on a strong podcast year 2020. And this 337th episode is practically the quintessence: 21 tracks are on the playlist, with debutants and established members of the "XtraChill" family being (almost) equal. Enjoy this musical review that will hopefully make up for some of the broken New Year's Eve parties!
