Within this episode Prof. Dr. Ellen Fritsche, Toxicologist from the Leibniz Research Institute for Environmental Medicine in Düsseldorf, gives answers to our questions about the neurosphere assay, starting with 'What are neurospheres anyway?'. She gives insight into how these are developed and analyzed. She describes advantages of this method and mentions opportunities for improvement.

Within this episode Dr. Jan Bruder from the Max Planck Institute in Münster gives answers to our questions about organoids, starting with “What are organoids anyway?”. He gives insight into the procedure of the automated production of organoids and describes their advantages. He explains new testing methods, which are for example used in the research of Parkinson's disease. Also ethical questions concerning mini brains are addressed.

Also the OECD guidelines are discussed in this context and the process of their development is exemplified on the basis of guideline 497.
