A security officer takes the overnight patrol rotation in a
decommissioned wing of a Foundation complex after the previous
officer finishes his contract and describes the building as one
that is "paying too much attention." Three floors, two
stairwells, one hundred forty rooms, all closed, all empty, all
lit by amber emergency lighting. He walks the route every ninety
minutes and checks every door. On his third circuit, he counts
one hundred forty-one. The new room is in a wall he walked past
thirty-five minutes ago. It is furnished, warm, and identical to
a room that already exists on a different floor. The Night
Archivist presents the recovered patrol log and one exit
interview with a single redacted answer.
This is a recovered Foundation encounter presented for slow
nighttime listening. The narration is calm and unhurried across
approximately one hundred minutes, with no jump scares, no sudden
volume changes and no sounds designed to startle you awake. The
full episode plays over a black screen so you can close your eyes
and let the file continue without interruption.
