Why Heat at Work Is More Than Just High Temperatures

Summer at work can look very different depending on where and how
we work.

In this episode of Work. Health. Me., occupational physician
Andrea Leipelt explores the often underestimated impact of summer
heat on health, concentration, safety, and work performance.

From offices without cooling to construction sites, waste
collection, healthcare, and emergency services — heat affects
people differently, but no workplace is immune.

This episode discusses practical ways organizations can support
healthy and safe work during hot weather: smarter work
organization, adjusted schedules, breaks, hydration, UV
protection, leadership, and prevention.

Because healthy work in summer is not about comfort — it’s about
staying healthy, safe, and able to perform.
