Let’s talk about the future of sealing materials. In the latest
episode of Alles DICHT!?, Professor Dr. Ruth Bieringer, Vice
President Technology & Innovation – Material Technology at
Freudenberg Sealing Technologies, joins Roger to discuss the
importance of material technology for modern sealing solutions and
how to successfully balance a wide range of often competing
requirements. The conversation explores material technology from
multiple perspectives: from increasing performance demands and the
ongoing advancement of sealing manufacturing to growing regulatory
pressure and the use of artificial intelligence in material
development. However, technical aspects are only one side of the
story. The other is the people who develop sealing materials. This
raises a crucial question: Who will take on this responsibility in
the future when fewer and fewer STEM graduates are entering the
workforce in Germany? And how can young people be inspired by a
fascinating field that, at first glance, may not seem particularly
"exciting"? We used AI-generated voices in this episode, and one of
them is a cloned version of a real person’s voice – with their
permission.
