tried to kill SCP-682. The files are old, clinical, and carefully
organized, each one describing another proposal, another test,
another controlled failure, and another moment when the creature
at the bottom of the acid chamber refused to become a corpse.


This episode follows SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile,
through a slow archive of failed termination attempts: acid
immersion, crushing force, starvation, biological agents,
anomalous weapons, hostile SCP exposure, extreme temperatures,
pressure tests, and stranger methods the Foundation would rather
not summarize in ordinary language. But as Dr. Vale reads deeper
into the record, the pattern becomes harder to ignore. SCP-682
does not simply survive. It adapts. It learns from every wound.
It turns every attempted death into another part of itself.


Rather than a fast monster story, this is a calm SCP Foundation
sleep episode about containment, obsession, and the unsettling
possibility that the Foundation’s attempts to destroy SCP-682 may
have helped make it even harder to destroy. The horror is not
only that SCP-682 remains alive. The horror is that every
