He is regarded as one of the most original interpreters of
contemporary world affairs. He advises heads of states and
governments across Europe, has met Vladimir Putin, writes regular
columns for the Financial Times and the New York Times, and is
the author of internationally acclaimed books and essays. The
political scientist Ivan Krastev was born in Bulgaria in 1965 and
has lived in Vienna for many years. He is a permanent Fellow at
the Institute for Human Sciences, where he is currently serving
as interim rector. He was one of the founding members of the
European Council on Foreign Relations and chairs the Centre for
Liberal Stategies in Sofia.
Armin Wolf sat down with Ivan Krastev to discuss the war in
Ukaine, Putin, Trump, demography, politics as a delivery service
and the future of liberal democracy.
