Puppet Theatre in Poland - A Conversation with Aga Blaszczak of the Puppet Theatre Institute in Wroclaw (18)

[ENG] What’s the puppetry scene like in Poland? How do the studies
of puppeteering at the National Theatre Academy Krakow in Wrocław
work? And what about the studies of directing puppetry? These and
more questions will be answered by Aga Błaszczak, vice-dean of the
puppetry department and also a director for puppetry on stage and
in film. She also curates the Lalka Nova (= “New Puppet”)
conference and the Metaformy Festival, a theatre festival
especially for european puppetry academies, that both happen
alternately every two years. The podcast HÄNDE HOCH (Hands up)
follows the life paths and detours of people on their artistic
journey in puppetry. Many fascinating guests from the contemporary
puppetry scene answer questions. The third season of HANDS UP is
produced by director and professor Roscha A. Säidow and puppetry
student Paula Engel. With the kind support of the Department of
Contemporary Puppetry at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts
and the Puppet Partners International project. This third season

“Neue Puppe”) Konferenz, die alle zwei Jahre im Wechsel mit dem
Metaformy Festival, einem Festival speziell für europäische
Puppenspiel-Hochschulen, stattfindet. Weil das Gespräch dieser

dritte Staffel HÄNDE HOCH wird produziert von Regisseurin und
Professorin Roscha A. Säidow und Puppenspielstudentin Paula Engel.
