Imagine the German fleet lying idle at anchor. Seventy-four
warships, immobilized in a lonely bay in northern Scotland. Gulls
circle overhead, and below them, the cold grave of the North Sea
awaits.

It is June 21st, 1919. While the fate of the world is being
negotiated in Versailles, a solitary decision is made in Scapa
Flow. A signal flutters in the wind: 'Paragraph Eleven. Confirm.'
It is the order to scuttle.

In this episode, we dive to the steel skeletons of the Imperial
High Seas Fleet. We talk about honor, despair, and the day the
German Navy chose to go down rather than surrender.
