The year is 1923. Germany is reeling between hyperinflation,
attempted coups, and the long shadow of the Treaty of Versailles.
Amidst this chaos, a man takes the reins who remains an enigma to
many: Gustav Stresemann. A pragmatic republican, a Nobel Peace
Prize laureate in the Stresemann suit named after him, he
attempted to reconcile the impossible: the pride of an old era
with the reality of a new world. In this episode, we look behind
the scenes of diplomacy – at the man who gave Germany and Europe
a respite while battling against time and his own health.
