The real reason finance teams don’t trust their own data: It is
usually not a technology problem. It is a trust problem. Processes
get redesigned. Dashboards get built. Automation gets launched. And
still, meetings end up stuck on the same question: can we trust the
numbers? That was one of the strongest points for me in my
conversation with guest Moiz Khan, Director Finance Excellence and
Governance at Hapag Lloyd AG. He described something many finance
teams know too well. Data is available. Tools are available. But
definitions are inconsistent, master data is not clean, and
multiple versions of the truth exist. The result is predictable.

finance. It is finance, technology, data, and translation. If these
pieces are disconnected, blind spots in decision-making are
inevitable. If they are connected, finance becomes simpler, more
