Cornelius Preidel is Chairman of buildingSMART Germany and Head
of the Steering Committee for Professional Certification at
buildingSMART International. Steen Sunesen is Managing Director
of buildingSMART Norway.

Cornelius Preidel emphasizes that buildingSMART Germany plays a
key role in certification context: experts from the German
buildingSMART community have significantly contributed to the
successful implementation and establishment of openBIM training
worldwide.

The 'Professional Certification' is central to the international
training landscape. It confirms that individuals have
demonstrated not only theoretical knowledge, but also the
practical ability to carry out tasks and assume responsibility.
In other words: proven capabilities. From a client’s perspective,
successful projects depend on having skilled people with clearly
defined competencies in place. For professionals, certification
serves as a valuable form of recognition that strengthens their
position in the job market.
