The Focke-Wulff FW 200 started life as a four-engined commercial
airliner. However, after a short time, she was militarized and
had to fill a gap within the arsenal of the Luftwaffe. The
aircraft became well-known as a long-range reconnaissance
aircraft over the Atlantic - and that's where she became her
nickname "Scourge of the Atlantic" by none other than Winston
Churchill.
