Recognition of gender apartheid in Afghanistan – what for?

In response to the Taliban's misogynistic system, Afghan women have
launched campaigns and engaged in transnational networks to have
gender-specific persecution and discrimination recognized as gender
apartheid. Tahmina Salik, Chairwoman at Empowerment For Her, is
part of this movement. In an interview with VIDC Director Sybille
Straubinger, she explains why she is not giving up hope and how
women in Afghanistan can be empowered.
