In today’s programme on Radio re:volt, we delve into the
unsettling wave of violence sweeping across the UK. With over a
hundred arrests following right-wing riots, cities from Hull to
Bristol are reeling. Central to these disturbances is a tragic
stabbing by a British-born individual of Rwandan descent in
Southport, which has been falsely attributed to an asylum seeker,
amplifying xenophobic attacks. We connect with Ren, a dedicated
activist from F-strike, who has been at the forefront of feminist
demonstrations in the UK. She brings us her first-hand insights
into the surge of anti-Muslim rallies, the recent
counter-demonstration in Belfast promoting unity, and the
concerning shift in public discord.
