“I did a lot of work experience in school and university before a
radio reporting role at the ABC. It did take perseverance and
knocking on doors, which is scary. I learnt a lot about the
principles of journalism - persistent, be courteous, keep trying
and don’t take no for an answer. Your job is to keep chasing
people till you get them on for an interview.”


Take flight into Kellie's journey - learning the importance of
hard work early on and having the support of her parents and
siblings - with a desire to go into music or radio.


We talk about her early break, learnings being in the music
industry, which seemed very glamorous on the outside but not as
enjoyable whilst doing it. The concept of Flerning - failing
& learning, Spending time at Oxford working for reuters
learning from smart people around the world, personal setbacks
including an injury that affected her ability for a period of
time.


Kellie shares her first hand insights on podcasting, finding the
vision for the platform at the ABC in 2005 before the iPhone,
what’s ahead for podcasting and her own venture into starting a
podcasting consulting and production company Deadset Studios and
Curveball Podcast
