During his gender reassignment, Rüzgar, an actor, was publicly
outed and vilified by the transphobic Turkish tabloid press. With
a strong will and steady support, he fights for the recognition
of his identity within the dominant conservative blue/pink
framework. In lively Istanbul, Burcu Melekoğlu accompanies him on
this long journey that leaves you little room to breathe.


 Biography


Burcu Melekoğlu, a graduate of the UCLA School of Film and
Television, works as a director and editor in Istanbul and is the
founder of the production company Moxie. BLUE ID is her first
feature-length documentary film.
