057 — Konservativ UND Progressiv

Das Theme der heutigen Episode ist: Konservativ und Progressiv,
die Betonung liegt dabei auf dem und; wie hoffentlich nach dieser
Episode klarer sein wird.


Rutger Bregmans TED-Video über das bedingungslose Grundeinkommen
hat mich »getriggert« über einen Themenbereich zu sprechen, der
in anderen Episoden schon angekratzt wurde. Mir scheint es aber
wesentlich zu sein, dieses Thema von unterschiedlichen Seiten zu
beleuchten. Außerdem ist die politische Dimension der
Lagerbildung in sogenannte konservative und progressive Gruppen
bisher noch nicht konkret angesprochen worden.


Wie verändern wir die Welt, sodass gerade nicht das bekannte
Zitat »Das Gegenteil von gut gemacht ist gut gemeint« zum Einsatz
kommen muss?


Wie  kommunizieren wir komplexe Probleme der Zeit in
angemessener Weise?


Wie können wir zu einer Diskurs-Kultur kommen, die nicht an
politischen Grenzen und Lagern zerschellt?


Was ist die Rolle von Wissenschaft? Sollte Wissenschaft und
Aktivismus voneinander getrennt sein, weil Wissenschafter sonst
das Risiko eingehen ihre oftmals enge Sicht zu überschätzen und
sich, wie immer öfter zu beobachten ist, in fast religiösen Eifer
steigern und damit ihre Glaubwürdigkeit verspielen.


Was ist das TED-Problem?

Kein komplexes Problem der Welt ist mit einfachen Mitteln und
Ideen zu lösen. Es ist relativ einfach auf die Schwächen
bestehender Systeme hinzuweisen, viel schwerer aber diese durch
etwas besseres zu ersetzen:


»The high point of techno-democratic optimism was arguably 2011,
a year that began with the Arab Spring and ended with the global
Occupy movement.«, Jonathan Haidt


Welche Rolle spielen in diesem Dilemma konservative und
progressive Ideen?


Underlying idea of conservatism: »There is an intuition, even if
they don't think of it that way logically, that almost everything
did not make it through evolution in terms of social systems. And
the few things that did weren't the things people thought would.
So there is a lot of embedded wisdom that wasn't understood, it
was hard earned. And we want to preserve that and not break it
because we think we understand it well enough and we might not.«


»Progressive intuition is that we deal with fundamentally novel
situations evolution did not yet figure out and we need
innovation.«


»And of course the synthesis of this dialectic is: we see new
innovation that is commensurate with that what should be
conserved. And not everything deserves to be conserved«, Daniel
Schmachtenberger


Rutger Bregman hat Recht, wenn er sagt:


»I'm a historian. And if history teaches us anything, it is that
things could be different. There is nothing inevitable about the
way we structured our society and economy right now. Ideas can
and do change the world.«


Die andere Seite aber spricht der britische Philosoph John Gray
