for the International Coaching Federation.


In order to achieve a coaching credential from the International
Coaching Federation, you have to pass a performance evaluation in
which a coaching recording is evaluated against a number of core
competencies. How did these core competencies develop? How did
the International Coaching Federation determine what these
competencies are? Carrie Abner talks about the rigorous process
that led to the update of the core competencies which will come
into effect in 2021. ICF is the only coaching association (which
we know of) that has endeavored and succeeded in such a thorough
and multi-tiered process to determine what professional coaching
