In this episode of WAS MIT KUNST, Johann König talks to the
hungarian artist Zsófia Keresztes. Zsófia creates large sculptural
works and installations out of a combination of materials that
straddle identities both virtual and real. These are often finished
in pastel hues of light blue, beige, coral, and pink, adding to
their appropriation of actual and imagined bodies. In recognition
of her capacity to transform sites and contexts into imagined
worlds of part-objects and bodily attachments, Zsófia was chosen to
represent her native Hungary at the 2022 Venice Biennale. In the
Podcast Johann and Zsófia talk about the duality in her works, how
she works in the studio and about her upcoming exhibition IN
ETHYLENE ARMS, which opens on the 13th of September in the nave of
the König Galerie, Berlin.
